Microsoft’s Developer Version of Hololens Is Arriving In Q1 2016

Development of Microsoft’s Hololens isn’t that quick and day-by-day its getting delayed. In an interview with Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella, Satya Nadella said the road to Hololens will be five year journey. He also said,”Developers version of Hololens will be launched within an year after Windows 10.”

Microsoft’s press release in New York on 6th of October was quite big, their was a huge line up of new hardware which included:

HoloLens is shaping up a very interesting turn in Microsoft industry. During the press release Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s windows and devices group vice president announced a beta/ developers version of HoloLens and developers can sign up online to buy the headset. Microsoft also stated that maximum of two “HoloLens Developers Edition” will be provided to the users who soever has ordered it and must be a citizen of Canada and US and also a part of Windows Insider.

So a question comes, What do we get to do with this epic device from Microsoft, well this could remain as a question for next few years, however our early prediction would be like, “Hololens offers a unique Augmented reality experience, an evolution in gaming, medical and potential feels. Intensive Gamers can get through an impression of being practical, well you can call it something similar to Oculus Rift and Sony’s PlayStation VR.” At E3 2015 Hololens was showed up through Halo 5: Guardians(Xbox One) gameplay demo.

Hololens is compatible with Windows 10 and as expected the device will have three processors namely GPU, CPU and HPU Holographic Processing Unit, something which is new and this processor will handle the data from the sensors. The advanced sensors in Hololens will capture the environment around you, process your gestures and also can measure your speed, pulse rate etc etc. In an interview Microsoft hardware technician, Todd Holmdahl said, “Hololens capture information about what you’re doing and the environment you’re in, Well this is simple, Hololens does it via the IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit) which includes a head cracking camera so that it could capture what you’re upto.” A microphone is fit which can capture your voice commands, a depth sensor that is used to spatially map your environment and interpret your hand gestures and a camera so you can share what you’re doing with others. Isn’t that interesting?
