GTX 960 Cup Round Up

So we just got done with the GTX 960 Cup a couple of days back in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai on the 31st of January. We would firstly want to thank you guys for your support, be it through social interactions like watching the twitch streams or interacting on facebook or actually turning up at the venues with your team, we really appreciate your passion and were glad that we were able to host this tournament with just a wonderful bunch of people.

We had a good tournament as we had more than the allotted number of teams to showing up at the venues eager take a shot at the cup. We had 8 teams playing a single round elimination at each venue, and the finals were the best of three. Teams were also treated to lunch, which was the least we could give them as they had a long day of gaming ahead of them. Teams mostly showed up on time which helped avoid the tournament finishing at an unearthly hour.

We saw some really dedicated teams show up at our venues. I had the pleasure of meeting a team that travelled from Pune to Bombay to participate in the cup. The members of Radio Active all got up at 4 and drove straight to Gear Up Cafe and surprisingly were the first team there as they showed up before the time we allotted for registration. It was really encouraging to see teams show such determination, and to their credit, they did decently well in the tournament too.

Team NeckBreak also turned up for this event, however not with their entire team as they competed under the name “Criminal Gaming” and eventually went on to win the tournament in Bombay after defeating Team xRG who too put up a good fight throughout the rounds.

From Bangalore Team International Respect took the title after taking on Mental Menace who secured the second spot.

And from Hyderabad we had Roar E-sports as the winners and Lucid Gaming  as the runners up

All teams were quite professional in their approach and interactions with the admins and with us as well. It was a good sign which showed that gaming is slowly losing its negative connotation and teams are slowly becoming more mature and professional.

We have to thank NVIDIA for sponsoring the tournament and making this all happen.

And of course all the teams that came out to take part in the event. We hope we get to see you soon
