Exception – Review

Exception – Review

In Exception you enter an old lady’s computer that has been taken over by a totalitarian virus. You then make your way through neon lit levels, defeating foes using flashy combat, fast paced movement, and really cool looking platforming. At the best of times, Exception is a looker, with a lot of vibrant colors flashing across the screen, and the platforming is really tight. Even when you get stuck at a tough section, getting over it is rewarding, and a real delight.

The levels also keep transforming, and is a mix between 2D and 3D which looks really neat. Plus this makes the exploration even more fun since triggering these changes is also a part of the gameplay. Plus the synth-wave soundtrack is an absolute banger. As the levels form and re-form and the music pulses around you, it’s easy to get into a great rhythm with the game.

Pros:
Looks great
Tight platforming
Nice soundtrack
Fun boss sections

Cons:
Simplistic story

Score – 8/10
