Dragon’s Dogma: First Impressions On The PC

Dragon’s Dogma: First Impressions On The PC

Dragon dogma: Dark Arisen just release on 15th of January for PC and I am happy to say that its a good port overall. First things first here are its system requirements :-

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows Vista or newer (32 or 64 bit)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5 660 CPU or equivalent
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Radeon HD 5870 or equivalent
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 20 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX-compatible sound card or onboard audio chip
    • Additional Notes: 1) Supports Keyboard+Mouse and XInput/DirectInput devices including Xbox 360, Xbox One, DualShock4 and Steam Controller.
      2) Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern gaming laptops with a discrete GPU may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: Windows 7/8/10
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K or equivalent
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or equivalent
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 20 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX-compatible sound card or onboard audio chip
    • Additional Notes: 1) Supports Keyboard+Mouse and XInput/DirectInput devices including Xbox 360, Xbox One, DualShock4 and Steam Controller.
      2) Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern gaming laptops with a discrete GPU may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

Now the PC we tested on is quite powerful and we played the game on a 2K monitor with higher refresh rate and we faced no FPS drops or any other problems, We were above 90 Fps at all times and so you must be thinking that’s due to our powerful PC.

Well you are kind of correct, but the main reason behind the high FPS is due to the fact that the visuals are not that good I mean they are a bit better than the PS3 graphics back in the day, and this should be of no surprise because it was never marked as a HD remake or something.

But still we were hoping that visuals will be good. The game might not shine in the visuals department but the fact that it gives good rate of FPS makes the experience really really good.

Now lets come on to the controls department. While I see many people playing the game with a controller, the ones who prefer the good old keyboard and mouse and would be playing with it won’t be having any issues which we are quite happy to see also there are some small issues or annoyances you could say like in the options menu to save your settings you have to press backspace and if clicking on the icon below won’t do anything,

You can’t use your scroll bar to scroll down in settings instead you have to click on the dots place on the right, one above and one below to scroll down.

All in all even due to some issues Dragon Dogma: Dark Arisen is great port and we at Gaming Central would suggest it worthy of purchase.
