Church In The Darkness, is an isometric stealth action game, inspired by the events surrounding the ‘Peoples Temple’ and the Jonestown Massacre. Set in ‘Freedom Town’ Socialist Commune in the Jungles of South America, you play as the protagonist Vick, who’s been asked to infiltrate this town in order to find ‘Alex’, your nephew.
Alex has come to Freedom town -like many other followers- due to the preachings of Issac and Rebecca Walker. As the stories of the town unfolds through the various brochures and letters written by the congregation members you discover a different truth about Freedom Town, one away from Issac and Rebecca’s preachings.
Most part of the game you would be hiding for getting around and to slowly narrow your search for Alex. Their may be some church members who might help, but the game is so dynamic that the person who helps you might alter the game’s ending. While combat is an option, scarcity of bullets and the large number of guards overwhelm you, and it’s better to just hide or run and sneak in again later. The games free flowing narrative really leaves you guessing at what is coming next and what is out there for you to discover.
