Next God of War in the works

Sony’s Santa Monica Studio is working on the next God of War title. News of the game’s development was dropped by creative director Cory Barlog during an audience Q&A session after a God of War retrospective at Sony’s PlayStation Experience this evening. Barlog wouldn’t go into details, but confirmed it wasn’t a prequel. It’s nice to know a new title is in the works, but don’t expect to hear more about until “the next year or two”, he told IGN. He also wouldn’t state whether Kratos will star in it or not. And so, the waiting game begins.

Street Fighter 5 Exclusivity an Ugly Trend?

Remember all the controversy generated with the timed Tomb Raider announcement for the Xbox? Well prepare for another bout of controversy as we hear the massive announcement that Street Fighter 5 will be coming exclusively to PS4 and PC. That’s right folks; the internet is about to go into meltdown and we’ll no doubt be on the front lines witnessing the war unfold as tears are shed, keyboards are smashed and hypocrites are exposed. THIRD PARTY EXCLUSIVITY- AN UGLY NEW TREND REARS ITS HEAD So there we have it. Third Party exclusivity is a thing now; first Titanfall, then Tomb Raider and now Street Fighter 5. We cannot say that we are fans of this trend at all. It only serves to deprive otherwise entitled gamers all because of some financial deal struck between companies. Titanfall suffered ...

Get Free Original PlayStation Theme For Your PS4

Sony really went big with their PlayStation’s 20th Anniversary celebrations. The company just released a free theme for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita that adds Original PlayStation sounds. A YouTube user by the name Ray Palafox II uploaded the footage you see below of the new start-up sounds and more. The theme comes bundled with the PS4’s latest firmware update.   The original PlayStation came out way back in Japan on the 3rd of December, 1994. To mark the occasion Sony also announced this week a rare PS4 that was redone with the Original PlayStation look.

Sony’s 20th Anniversary Edition PS4

To mark their 20th anniversary for PlayStation, Sony has revealed a new custom PS4, which is designed with an original PSOne finish. The console can be preordered from the US and Europe for $499 and €499. But there are only 12,300 of these bad boys around the world.   They’ve basically taken their latest console and given it a PlayStation look which was what started their venture in gaming. Packaged in a special commemorative box, the custom PS4 is brilliant with a familiar silver/grey finish. The DualShock 4 controller also went through a similar overhaul and sees the return of the original PlayStation logo. If you look at the touch pad you’ll notice that there is a pattern on it which makes it very cool indeed. You can pre-order this from the 6th of December 2014.Further details ann...

Assassins Creed Unity downgrade for the PS4 is for Good?

While most of us are very excited about Assassins Creed Unity and we are organizing an exclusive QnA with the Dev team as well. Earlier this week, Assassin’s Creed Unity producer Vincent Pontbriand revealed that Ubisoft had purposefully downgraded the PlayStation 4 version they made sure it ran at 900p instead of 1080p. Ubisoft’s thought for this was that the Xbox One can only do 900p/30 frames per second, and Ubisoft didn’t want to make Xbox One users feel inferior. Pontbriand said that they just limited the PS4 version to the Xbox One to “avoid all the debates and stuff”. This is despite the fact that the PS4’s GPU is 50% more powerful than the Xbox One’s, and can easily run games at 1080p. But the exact opposite has happened: Ubisoft’s decision has caused far more debate than if they ha...

Silent Hills P.T. Demo Walkthrough will scare you :)

Since P.T. (Silent Hills demo) was released on the PlayStation Store in August, it’s been the target of widespread discussion. Not only is it extremely frightening, but it’s designed in such a way that progress is stunted by obscure puzzles. So we decided to play and experience it and it was…well worth it 🙂 Check it out in the video.

4 Reasons Why PS4 Is Crap

Before you almost fall off your chair and lean intently towards the screen thinking–“saale ne kya kaha??” Just want you to know this is an opinion piece and that the PS4 is a good gaming console no doubt, but there are a few areas I felt it needs to pick up its slack.   The PlayStation 4 is the result of careful consumer study and balanced research into what makes a console resonate with its target audience. A spectacle of engineering, PR and excellent game design coming together to take us to the future of gaming. Or it would have been if Sony hadn’t spent literally every second of every press conference blatantly taking the piss out of Microsoft’s X-One. Running victory laps is fine as a joke, but not when that that joke becomes your entire sales pitch. It stopped ...

3 Big Problems with the Destiny Beta

The Destiny Beta version is finally here, and so far, I am very encouraged with the game. The world of the game looks amazing. The combat and controls work very well.  There are also things that bug me about the Beta mode. I hope Bungie will fix or address some issues for the final retail version. Other concerns need to be fleshed out later. So here we go: 3. Server Crashes Nothing kills the flow of gameplay like a server crash. The servers for Destiny have been crashing constantly during the Beta version. I was unable to finish a single multiplayer play session because of server crashes. This is incredibly frustrating because I had a couple of rounds where I was actually doing quite well; but none of the data was saved because of the server crashes. I hope Bungie gets this fixed in time f...

H1Z1 presents Free-to-Play Zombie Survival to PS4 and PC

Remember the panic over H1N1? Well, imagine how much worse it would have been if it involved zombies! The recent trailer didn’t just make zombie-killer fans happy, but should’ve made pro wrestling fans happy as well with the use of one of AJ Styles’s final TNA Wrestling themes in “Evil Ways”. Zombie survival is a notable genre now, and H1Z1 is set to be the first MMO with that backdrop. The Planetside 2 engine is being used for the game, and given how fantastic that was, this should follow in its footsteps really well. H1Z1 is due out later this year for the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. Item-crafting is a huge part of the game. You’ll use that for your weapons, and also be able to use the system to build things like a tool shed. Improvised weapons can be crafted as well. You can craft a...
