Exciting times indeed. However, despite all the excitement around for the next-gen bandwagon that is all set to roll out this month at a lot of places across the globe (to be released in India early next year), there are several reasons why the “current gen” consoles are still worth sticking with. 1. Backward Compatibility Neither the Xbox One or ...

The Gran Turismo series is widely known to be the first to really think out of the box, by introducing the weirdest prototypes and ‘things-on-wheels’ to drive. This is the new concept trailer presenting the latest information about Gran Turismo 6 which only is now a month away from releasing on December 6 and  December 5th in Asian regions. P.S- Wanna skip to the moon part, head on over to 2:30

5 things you did not know about Call Of Duty

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available from tomorrow on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PS4 (strangely, considering the console itself doesn’t come out until the end of the month) and PC. It will also hit Xbox One on 19 November and its release marks the tenth anniversary of the hugely successful franchise. The original Call of Duty was released on 29 October 2003 and was developed by Infinity Ward, the same studio behind the latest in the series. It was set in World War II, as were more immediate sequels, and initially came out for the PC – a Mac version followed and Xbox Live and PSN both offered HD versions for download in 2009. To celebrate the anniversary and the release of Ghosts, we present some tasty nuggets read on to know more 🙂 Call of Duty developers hate cars Activision rele...

Microsoft gets ready to take on Google Glass

Microsoft is desperately working towards giving Google stiff competition in the augmented reality section by collaborating with partners to create“web-connected eyewear” that would serve as a Google Glass competitor. Rumors are going around that Microsoft is testing prototypes and “has asked several component makers in Asia to supply cameras and other key components for eyewear prototypes.” A few months back, Microsoft tried its hand with other “beyond the television” gaming experiences such as Illumiroom, however the technology was too expensive. But for the time being, the Microsoft eyewear remains a rumor. Other companies like Sony said that they would be testing a headset of its own, and other recent competitors include the soon-to-be-4K Oculus Rift and the CastAR system from ex-Valve ...

Xbox One to run Audio CD Playback and DLNA Streaming

Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox One is capable of both playing audio CDs and DLNA streaming, two distinct features which distinguish it from PlayStation 4 and possibly gives it an edge over the neck and neck competition between these two rivals of the gaming world. A Sony FAQ published regarding PlayStation 4 published that the PS4 lacked some music-related functionality — virtually, that it can’t play audio CDs or MP3s and lacks a music visualizer and DLNA support. Feedback from gamers about this issue has caused Sony to start “exploring possibilities” regarding this. These issues brought the Penny Arcade Report to ask Microsoft about whether these features are supported on Xbox One. Microsoft replied saying  Xbox One will offer audio CD playback and DLNA comp...

Ghosts is 720p on Xbox One, 1080p on PS4

Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin yesterday cleared a rumor about the comparative resolutions for Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. He did so on Twitter, by confirming the game is native 720p on Xbox One (upscaled to 1080p), while the PS4 version is native 1080p. “Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4,” said Mark. “We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both,” he added. “Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week’s launch.” Microsoft director of product planning Albert Penello sai...

Call of Duty: Ghosts system requirements released officially

Nvidia put out some unofficial Call of Duty: Ghosts system specs a couple of weeks back suggesting that Infinity Ward’s peppy manshooter would require a 64 bit OS, and they were right. The Call Of Duty sitenow has the official specs, which adjusts the 50GB install to a 40GB one (lets face it, 30GB of that is hi-res dog), but retains the 6GB RAM requirement. Watch Dogs, another game designed to span the gap between current and ‘next-gen’ console hardware, needs similar tech. We can expect system requirements to quickly jump up when we start seeing ports of games that target the PS4 and Xbone exclusively next year. Will the similarity of the new console hardware to PC architecture make for smoother ports? I can only hope. Meanwhile, get yer Call of Duty: Ghosts system requi...

Capcom hoping to sell 1.2 Million copies of Dead Rising 3

Capcom has just come out with their sales figures and projections for some of its biggest franchises. Other than yesterday’s news that Resident Evil 5 is now the company’s best-selling game, additional information has been released about more recently launched titles. “In the six months beginning April 2013, it appears that Lost Planet 3 was outsold globally by Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. While the latter managed to sell 650,000 units worldwide, it transpires that the latest entry in the Lost Planet franchise sold just 300,000.” Looking to the future, Capcom is projecting sales of 1.2 million for its Xbox One exclusive, due out worldwide when the console launches on November 22. It’s a fairly optimistic figure seeing as it comes at the start of the cons...

Titanfall to be an Xbox One, 360 and PC exclusive

Looks like it is true that the debut game, Titanfall will remain a Microsoft-platform exclusive. However the future of the franchise — once Respawn is no longer a “startup” — could possibly make its way to PS4. The studio head then said, “Of course we will [make PlayStation 4 games], just not the first Titanfall.” In the middle of today’s quarterly earnings call, EA squashed recent rumors about Titanfall coming to PlayStation 4. CFO Blake Jorgensen explained that Titanfall “is exclusive only for the lifetime of the title on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.” Jorgensen also assuaged worries that Respawn was rushing Titanfall to market, declaring the intended release date was always in the March, April, May time frame. “No, we’re no...

Battlefield 4 “China Rising Expansion” Pack to come out soon

On the third of December, Premium Members can avail of the new ‘China Rising expansion pack’. DICE had actually updated the game’s Premium Calendar in light of the game’s release, confirming when the first DLC bundle will be available. ‘China Rising expansion pack’ is the first of five planned expansion packs and this pack includes four additional maps set across the Chinese mainland, new vehicles and equipment. When the Premium Membership service was first announced, it was explained that anyone who took advantage of the subscription would not only receive all the Battlefield 4 DLC and Expansion Packs at no additional cost, they’d also get them two weeks early compared to normal players. So, while it isn’t confirmed, this suggests non-Premiu...
