PlayStation to give out racing pods for Gran Turismo 6 contest

PlayStation is holding a contest for Gran Turismo 6. But this isn’t any old contest, it’s not like you can snatch a spot and hope for a chance for winning. To enter this contest, one will have to take part in a multiple-choice quiz on the history of the Gran Turismo series. There are six questions to be answered and the fastest time wins. That means you probably won’t have time to google search your answers. If you were to be selected as one of the five grand prize winners, you’d receive an official Gran Turismo racing pod, a 40-inch Sony Bravia TV, a Thrustmaster Steering Wheel and racing seat, a PS3 system and a copy of Gran Turismo 6 Anniversary Edition. Ten runners-up will receive a copy of GT6 Anniversary Edition and a PS3 to play it on. They were trapped.” Holmes said he was among a group of people who showed up at the site with fire extinguishers and tried to rescue Walker and the driver. “We tried. NVIDIA considers PC a “far superior” gaming platform than the PS4 and Xbox One

PC hardware manufacturer Nvidia are of the opinion that the PC is “far superior” to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as a gaming platform, and that small form-factor PCs should be a viable alternative or option to next-gen consoles. “We are proposing small form-factor PCs to be a viable alternative to the next-gen consoles. Enthusiast players want the ultimate games system and that is the PC,” said Matt Wright, Nvidia consumer sales manager. Wright went on to say “The PC platform is far superior to any console when it comes to gaming, plus you get all the extra functionality that a computer brings.” Small PC gaming boxes are a major aspect of ‘Valve’s SteamOS push’ to try and get PC hardware into the living room, with the first Steam Machines expected to ship in...

DICE dropped an update on the Battlefield 4 forum this morning indicating that it plans to patch the PC version sometime next week, after the Thanksgiving weekend. According to the patch notes, the update will address some of the key technical issues still present in BF4 a month after launch. The most significant of these is in our mind is the one-hit kill bug, an issue where headshots within eight meters are occasionally dealing more than their predicted 200 percent damage. YouTuber Jackfrags helped get the word out about the issue in an explanation video last week: Pre-patch notes from the Battlefield 4 forums: Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain mu...

Grand Theft Auto V‘s free Beach Bum DLC is now available to download, alongside the game’s 1.06 update. While it didn’t bring the one feature that so many fans had been hoping for, audio files taken from the update could shine a light on other activities headed to the online version of the game. It is no secret that Heists is wanted by most GTA Online players, but not all of them are bothered because the delay gives them something to look forward to, as well as forces them to do other things within the online version of Grand Theft Auto. PlayStation 3 owners will get the content automatically as part of the update, whereas Xbox 360 owners need to update the game and download the DLC for free from Xbox Live. The Beach Bum DLC features the SNS pistol and the broken bottle w...

Ashes Cricket 2013 pulled from Steam

The sorry saga of 505 Games’ Ashes Cricket 2013 continues beginning with one of the dumbest trailers in gaming history, it was supposed to appear in June this year. You know, in time for the Ashes. It didn’t make it, except they got lucky. The usual two year gap between the Australia Vs England bat-to-ball grudge series, they’ve started another one already, just a few months later. A fortuitous one-off anomaly allowing the game to slip five months and not suddenly be enormously out of date. So now, in time for the latest Ashes, it’s been released on PC alone. Except, it’s all going a bit wrong. Just a few days later it’s been mysteriously pulled from Steam, the Facebook page has vanished, and there are lots of rather cross customers. And an increasing number of excellent videos. As well as...
