Rime Digital Price Slashed By $10 On Switch eShop

Back in March, we announced that the Nintendo Switch version of RiME was going to be released at $39.99 / €44.99 / £39.99. The reason for the higher price was due to the additional development, manufacturing, and publishing costs involved with that port. While some were understanding of these go-to-market costs, there were still a number of folks who weren’t happy. We totally understand: nobody wants to pay higher prices. At Grey Box, we are determined to provide a fair deal for everyone around. And so we discussed how we could do that, without simply selling at a loss, all while also being fair to our retail partners. So, here’s what we’re doing. First off, the digital version of RiME on Nintendo Switch will now cost $29.99 / €34.99 / £29.99, the same price as the game on...

Meet Shreyas, A 17 Year Old Aspiring Game Dev Who Wants To Make A Difference

Hello everybody, Shreyas here. This android game “Sustain“ was made by me. I’m a 17 year old programmer from Bangalore, India. Growing up in the Silicon city of India, I always wanted to be a programmer. Not just your average software engineer, but someone who can contribute to humanity, to the world. So then I started my journey as a game developer because games are things that bring people together and also bring joy to many a folk. Growing up I played a lot of action games from Max Payne to Skyrim to the GTA franchise, and I thought to myself, “Hey, I like games so much, why not try and make one?” Initially, I learnt the HTML language from my school. It didn’t particularly interest me a lot but then I found out about C++, very difficult to master but once you learn it, there...

All I Want Is: Everything Review

Everything is about every thing. Or at least every thing the game developers could render into the game. You’re thrown right in to a procedurally generated world with little to no context, and soon you’re stumbling down the long plains, taking in the subdued yet breathtakingly beautiful vistas around you. As you walk (well, not really walk, but flip/roll around) further in any direction, you’ll see other creatures going about their own thing in the world. You’re free to mingle with them, or simply watch in fascination. You can interact with them by singing to them, and soon you’ll start moving with the pack. Or you can choose be something else entirely. See a rock that catches your fancy? Well, possess it, and you’re a rock. Or an insect. Or even go furt...

NieR: Automata Cracked Wide Open

Be it people or androids, it seems like no one can get ahead of hackers. Nier: Automata (or as we like to call it, Autotomato) has finally been cracked. The action RPG developed by Platinum Games has been all the rage for various reasons, from it’s incredible gameplay to 2B’s magnificent backside. We had quite a lot of fun playing it too. To know our impressions, you can read our review of the game here. About Nier: Automata NieR: Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machines. Humanity has been driven from the Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to take back the planet, the human resistance sends a force of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war b...

A Nightmare To Remember: Little Nightmares Review

From the very moment you wake up as a little girl clad in yellow, you feel a profound sense of helplessness. Making your way through vents and climbing up stairs with nothing but a lighter, you realise how small you are. Five minutes into the game, you’re greeted by a really tall man’s limp body hanging from above the ceiling. This is how Little Nightmares introduces you to its insidiously grim, yet well-lit premise. You play as Six, a nine-year old girl trapped in some kind of a nautical prison called the Maw. It’s a constant game of hide and seek where you use stealth to make your way past grotesque looking creatures who are out to get you. You’re also greeted by traps and falls and things that grant you instant death. There is a lot of ambiguity, you don’t ...
