Nvidia releases first WHQL-certified video driver for Windows 10

Last week, Nvidia officially released new Windows 10 drivers for its family of graphics adapters. Normally, that would be no big deal–graphics hardware companies update their Windows video drivers all the time. The twist is that these new drivers, version 352.84, are certified for Windows 10 by the Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL), with full support for DirectX 12. After installation, Nvidia’s GeForce Experience app reports that “this driver … is the first WHQL-certified and latest recommended driver for all pre-release Windows testing.” If you have an Nvidia adapter and you’re running the Windows 10 Insider Preview, you can download the drivers directly from the company’s download site. WHQL certification is a big deal. It means the drivers hav...

Oculus Rift System Specs

Oculus says these are the recommended specs “for the full Rift experience”: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater 8GB+ RAM Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output 2x USB 3.0 ports Windows 7 SP1 or newer A build like this would roughly cost you about 51000 rs. Not too shabby a cost for a rig that would be able to run full 3D immersive visuals. Sorry console buddies, only PC Master Race for now. But seriously though it isn’t too bad, if anything it’s good news that the Oculus Rift is able to run in a rig of that price. Some of you guys might also be wondering, “What about plugging the Oculus Rift into a laptop?” Unfortunately, we’ve nothing but bad news for you at the moment: “Almost no current laptops have the GPU performance for the recommended spec” s...

Windows 10 Has 7 Editions

Microsoft has confirmed that the Windows 10 operating system will come in seven different editions, including desktop and mobile versions for homes and businesses, along with offerings for schools, etc. Though earlier iterations of Windows have had different editions of it’s release, this is the first time that clear outline has been made around the same. “We designed Windows 10 to deliver a more personal computing experience across a range of devices,” Microsoft’s Tony Prophet wrote in a blog post. “An experience optimized for each device type, but familiar to all. Windows 10 will power an incredibly broad range of devices – everything from PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox One, Microsoft HoloLens and Surface Hub.” 1. Windows 10 Home: This is the “consum...

These Redesigned Batmans Will Make You Drool Pt. II

Not too long ago, I had done this article on a Facebook group called Brainstorm where artists take part in a whole bunch of challenges. For a certain month their task was to redesign Batman including his Batmobile and needless to say the results were insane. However, now I’ve come across another set of images on ScoopWhoop that depict Batman in different eras. Check them out   Viking Batman Source – mlkshk   1714 Batman Source – Alexon   Actual Bat Batman Source – Luke Maddox   Ottoman Batman Source – Eren Arik   Future Batman (Not to be confused with Batman Beyond) Source – Ryan HDZ   Greaser Batman Source – DenisM79   Actual Dark Knight Source – Johnas Larona   Medieval Batman Source – Daniel Ab...

Mad Max Gets A New Action Packed Trailer

Action packed is probably not the most appropriate word to describe this trailer. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more action packed trailer than this ever in my life. There is almost no breathing space in this trailer, its just constantly one action scene after another.   The film is scheduled for release on May 15, 2015 Mad Max isn’t the only game that has turned into a feature on the big screen. We heard that the Assassin’s Creed movie has entered its production stage. Favorite

Enjoy a game of Pacman on Google Maps For April Fools Day

Just a few hours ago, Google showed the world its April Fools Day prank. It’s not really a prank if you ask me, but it is something extremely cool that Google does. Open Maps on your browser and you will see a small Pacman logo on the bottom left corner of your screen. Clicking on the icon turns your screen into a Pacman maze I don’t think I’d be able to finish that maze, it looks wayyy too hard to complete.   Google also did the same with mobile phones, except on a phone you have to guess certain landmarks based on some clues Google provides to find Pacman. I managed to find the first one. Once you’ve found the location, the Pacman logo will appear and clicking on that will result in your screen turning into a Pacman maze. Last year Google played a similar pra...

Watch This Top Gear Episode Entirely Made In Just Cause 2

This is probably one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long long time. YouTuber TannerProductions has made an absolutely brilliant parody of a Top Gear episode made entirely in Just Cause 2. The trio travels to Panau in South-East Asia for a race, and things sorta get out of hand to say the least. Favorite

What Star Wars Would Look Like Had Square Enix Designed It

Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix has taken a liking to recreating certain major media franchise for its line of “Play Arts” figures. Square Enix along with Lucasfilm have come out with a new Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Stormtrooper Star Wars figures designed by the Japanese game publisher. And they look pretty insane. According to ToyArk, the figures will be up for sale this July and might cost somewhere around $100 each.   From the pictures you can make out that the Boba Fett toy is quite detailed with its pistol, knives, flamethrower effect, and more. The new Stormtrooper figurine features interchangeale hands, a blaster, and a deadly look that usually isn’t a attribute of a regular Storm Trooper. There is also a pretty badass Darth Vader figure in the gallery. Star Wars isn’t th...

Now play Super Mario 64 in your browser

Super Mario Bros is still an amazing game, Computer science student Erik Roystan Ross recently decided to remake the first level of the game while experimenting with the Unity game engine, and the results are impressive — the game looks almost as good as more recent games in the series. “I currently do not have any plans to develop this any further or to resolve any bugs, unless they’re horrendously game-breaking and horrendously simple to fix,” says Ross. And you can even play the remake in your browser right here — but don’t expect to see the rest of the game rendered in HD. Favorite

Watch Spectre’s Teaser Trailer

It’s been a day or two since this trailer came out, but I just had to give it a mention. MGM released the first trailer for this year’s 007 movie, Spectre. And this trailer gives something to thing about, especially when Moneypenny says to Bond “You’ve got a secret. Something you can’t tell anyone, because you don’t trust anyone.” Here’s the official plot description for Spectre: “A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre.”   Spectre, also features WWE Star Dave Bautista and Academy Award-winning actor Christoph Waltz. The movie op...

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Launched In India

So the Gaming Central Team attended the Launch for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in Delhi on the 23rd of March in Taj Palace. Needless to say it was quite an event and Samsung pretty much cut all the stops to ensure that this launch was nothing short of an absolute success. The event started with the keynote speech which had a few of the senior management members showcasing different aspects of the phone that make this arguably the best smart phone in the market right now. From the camera to display to the AI these phones have it all. Comparisons to the iPhone regarding its camera quality were shown and how Samsung’s latest line up wins in this regard. Another presentation also showed how India had a part in making the S6 and S6 Edge, which again was quite interesting to know. &n...
