The Splinter Cell is a new live-action movie from Atomic Productions that charts the life of Sam Fisher before he joined the Third Echelon. Expect terrorists, gunplay and of course, those iconic night vision goggles. The move was written by Andrew Adams and produced by Ben and Andrew Adams. We’ll have more on the project as it progresses, but Ben told me over email that Atomic Productions is aiming to have the film ready before the end of July. For now, here’s a theatrical poster: Source: VG247
Gaming and TV have always been such uneasy bed-fellows, wouldn’t you say? Apart from giving us a screen on which to project our innermost fantasies and perversions through the medium of console gaming, the humble idiot box has done deplorably little to capitalise on its shared DNA with our favourite time-sink. Instead, we get this. But here’s a thought. With game-to-film adaptations falling flat, what if we shift focus to the small screen? Games have it all; compelling plots, relatable characters and more explosions and dragons you can shake a remote at. I mean, it’s not like we have anything better to watch on our 50 inch flat screens anyway. In a world where a show featuring the horribly tanned plastic people above can get green-lit, why haven’t the following games become serials yet? Yo...

This time we delve a bit deep into the Science of Box Art, so lets get started 🙂 From the day we’re born to the day we die, everyone always tells us, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Well, tough. I’m going to judge because who the hell has time to read that shit anymore? But when it comes to dropping $60 on a brand new game, bad box art can send up all kinds of red flags. In this case, they all scream “pedo”. In the days before gaming mags, review websites and my brother(Hi Adi! I’m out of the pit. And I’m coming for you) a kickass box art was all that we had to go on while spending hard earned cash on the latest brain-fart by our second favourite publisher. But times have changed since then. We now have Wi-Fi and streaming porn...

Over the years several war based games have captured the moment which are very true to life, like the Brothers In Arms franchise, while others, like Battlefield 1942, use D-Day as just another map in a World War II game. While a lot of us do not really relate to the World War and D-Day landings, but it is certainly one of most vivid scenes captured by gamers over the years. Close Combat: Invasion Normandy (PC) Close Combat: Invasion Normandy stands due to its...
