Michael Fassbender assigned main role in Assassin’s Creed Movie

Wouldn’t you think that the people making the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ movie would pick an actor who has at the least has played the game. Well, you’d be wrong if you thought so. Cause actor Michael Fassbender is all set to star in the Assassin’s Creed: The Movie, even though he has never played the game. In a recent interview the actor said that the roles in movies such as  X-Men and Prometheus have given him the freedom to explore less commercial pieces. When asked about pre-production on the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, Fassbender said: “That’s definitely happening. We’re just developing the script at the moment. I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s not what they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guy...

Photos On How to Replace the PS4 Hard Drive

Sony had confirmed at E3 that the PlayStation 4 would give owners the option to remove and upgrade the built-in hard drive, and now they’ve shown us how. PC enthusiast websiteComputer Bild has put up detailed photos of the PS4’s removable housing and HDD tray. According to the post, it seems like the hard drive is placed underneath the glossy exterior panel on top of the device which can be removed via torx screwdriver. Like the PS3, the system uses a 2.5″ laptop hard drive, which should enable users to upgrade the system with a solid state drive, provided they’re willing to go through the trouble and incur the expense.     Source: IGN

Wii production soon coming to an end

Even though the Wii is without a doubt Nintendo’s top-selling console, recent talks have indicated that production of the device is likely to come to a close. It was revealed on the official Nintendo Japan Wii website that Wii “manufacturing is scheduled to end soon.” No date has been confirmed as of now, and it still remains unclear whether this end in production of the Wii only applies to Japan or to the rest of the world as well. As Engadget points out, this decision should come as little surprise. It’s been nearly a year since Nintendo released the Wii’s successor, and since then, pretty much turned its efforts towards the new machine. Further, the Wii U has been able to play Wii games since day one. Its most recent update even allows players to enjoy Wii ...

Strong Link Between Gaming And Playing Real Sports

Your endless hours of playing Fifa has finally come good 🙂 New research from ESSEC, one of France’s leading business schools, has found that playing sports videogames can increase participation in real sports, especially among young men and boys. 38 per cent of boys under the age of 21 who play sports games on “active” game consoles practice their favourite virtual sport in real life, while 75 per cent of gamers participate in some kind of real sport, according to the study. “Videogames are frequently demonised. We now know that these fears are unfounded,” said Thierry Lardinoit, ESSEC’s marketing head. “There is a strong correlation between playing video games and participating in real sports. Watching television is a threat to physical activity. Videogames are not, however,” he add...

Performance anxiety for PS4 and Xbox One ?

With the upcoming next generation of consoles, PlayStation 4 is currently around 50 per cent faster than its rival Xbox One. Multiple high-level game development sources have described the difference in performance between the consoles as “significant” and “obvious.” It is reported that memory reads on PS4 are 40-50 per cent quicker than Xbox One, and its ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) is around 50 per cent faster. One basic example we were given suggested that without optimisation for either console, a platform-agnostic development build can run at around 30FPS in 1920×1080 on PS4, but it’ll run at “20-something” FPS in 1600×900 on Xbox One. “Xbox One is weaker and it’s a pain to use its ESRAM,” concluded one developer. Microsoft is aware of the problem and, having recently upped the clock s...

Valve Unleashes the Steam Controller

Valve came out with the final announcement of the week, with the Steam Controller. They seem to be set out with a singular goal: to bring the Steam experience, in its entirety, into the living-room. Here are the few brief highlights of the controller. Complete catalog The Steam Controller is designed to work with all the games on Steam: past, present, and future. Even the older titles in the catalog and the ones which were not built with controller support will can be played using this new controller. Superior performance Traditional gamepads force us to accept compromises. With a goal to improve upon the resolution and fidelity of input that’s possible with those devices, the Steam controller offers a new and, we believe, vastly superior control scheme. Steam claims the controller is just...
