Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare sets new Twitch streaming records

While there is no official statement on whether or not Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has broken any sales records, one thing we do know is that the game has reached new heights as far as streaming is concerned. Activision and Twitch announced today that Advanced Warfare is the most streamed console game (not PC) of 2014 for its launch week worldwide. It wasn’t mentioned which title Advanced Warfare overtook to get to the top.

Come down to figures, Activision says last week alone, more than 75,000 unique Twitch users shared Advanced Warfare gameplay. Advanced Warfare streams were viewed over 26 million times, and drew nearly 6 million unique viewers last week. In all, Twitch users spent over 327 million minutes watching Advanced Warfare streams during the week.

“The team at the studio is thrilled to see players think the game we’ve poured our heart and soul into making these last three years is not only fun to play, but very exciting to watch,” Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield said in a statement.

It’s been 10 days since the games launch for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. I’m sure Activision is hopeful that the game will sell more units than 2013’s Call of Duty: Ghosts, but they haven’t announced any sell-through data so far.
