Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Release Coming Next Month (Rumor)

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is easily the best Call Of Duty game, with a spectacular action packed campaign and a fantastic multiplayer. When it was re-released last year, in yet another scummy move, Activision made it so that you could only play it if you bought Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and even needed the disc to be in the console while playing it. Fans have since been asking for a standalone release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, and it seems like Activision is finally ready to give in.

A rental service, GameFly, has listed the game for purchase, with release dates of 20 June for the PS4 and 20 July for the Xbox One. It seems like Activision is done milking its fans, at least for now, and are looking for good will for their next game, ie Call Of Duty WWII. The pages on Gamefly have since been taken down, but not before the Internet sleuths got some screenshots.

Do note that there has been no official confirmation yet, and this might all be a mistake on part of GameFly. However, the release gap between PS4 and Xbox One seems pretty standard. And since Activision is releasing Call Of Duty Black Ops Zombies as a standalone DLC, it’s not too hard to imagine Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered getting a similar treatment.
