While purchasing hardware for a PC we as Gamers usually focus a lot on the kind of Graphic Card and processors to juice out the maximum out of our rigs. While that is something inherent in all of us gamers, today we focus on another aspect of gaming and that is the Display. The folks at BENQ launched the XL series of Gaming Monitors a few months back so we’ve reviewed the 2411Z Gaming Monitor.
The stunning monitor is equipped with the latest Motion Blur Reduction technology, Low Blue Light, Gaming-comfort Flicker-free, Gaming Refresh rate Optimization Management (GROM), and Display Pilot feature to deliver agile performance, viewing comfort and convenience all at once – for your victory and entertainment.
Viewing angles, uniformity, detail and colour gradients are as expected as good as it needs to be for gaming. Lets take a look at some of the features of the BENQ XL2411Z.
Motion Blur Reduction The XL2411Z offers Motion Blur Reduction and is uniquely designed with the consideration of the resolution, response time and refresh rate. It ensured a free-of-blur gaming experience, particularly for action-packed FPS games where every millisecond counts. It works to support a range of resolutions and refresh rates, providing cleaner, sharper video quality on the display. A genuinely fast response time of 1ms meant that Fast-moving action and dramatic transitions are rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting. BenQ’s new Motion Blur Reduction technology further enhances an ultra-smooth, free-of-blur gaming experience, particularly for action-packed FPS games where every millisecond counts. With Motion Blur Reduction, gamers no longer suffer from time and gaming comfort lost to poor vision quality created by motion blur and lagging. Instead, they have everything to gain with more reaction time advantage on their side to achieve ultimately a flawless victory.
Low Blue Light for Eye Safety, Benq 2411Z enables long hours of gaming with clear, comfortable vision. The blue spectrum light, which is produced by regular computer screens, is a critical cause of eye damage, eyestrain, headaches and sleeping disorders. This feature allows you to adjust the low blue light levels, gamers can better protect their eyes. So there would be no need for yellow tinted eyeglasses for additional eye protection, and gameplay can be clear, comfortable and hassle-free.
One feature which BenQ boasts for the monitor is the Exclusive FPS Mode, which was co-developed with gaming legends to let you tap into the fundamental insights of pro gamers and view the game how a gaming legend would see it. This out-of-the-box preset automatically adjusts your monitor calibrations to provide you with optimal brightness, contrast, sharpness and color tint. Being able to spot your enemies and track their move carefully in every situation put you at an advantage over your opponents. There are two variations to this special mode: the FPS1 mode is designed to configure and optimize the display for Counter-Strike 1.6 and the FPS2 mode for Counter-Strike Source as recommended by BenQ. To ensure top notch performance BenQ’s collaboration with top-tier professional Counter-Strike gamers certainly helps, since the creation of the most empowering features that signature the XL Series, including the Display Mode and Smart Scaling so you can actually adjust viewing from 17” to 24” Neat isn’t it ?
The XL2411Z has been upgraded to eliminate flickering at all brightness levels. This effectively reduces eye fatigue. The monitor enables you have the best combat positioning, So you canTailor the height, tilt, pivot, stroke and swivel adjustment of each monitor to perfectly fit each individual user.
Conclusion
We recommend this to gamers who want the best of HD resolution and a great response time. If you game on the PC or a console the blue light reduction will soothe your eyes and the low latency and HD is a big plus. The one thing which goes against the Benq XL2411Z is the price point which does look a bit steep at RS 25,252 on leading e-commerce portals. Take it from this review though, the XL2411Z in particular satisfies our (strict) requirements just fine.
