Areia: Pathway to Dawn – Review

Areia: Pathway to Dawn – Review

Areia: Pathway to Dawn is a third person adventure game about enlightenment and the journey that leads to it. It leans more on the relaxing end of things than an intense video game experience, much like Journey – and it really is an interesting game to play. Areia: Pathway to Dawn is inspired by Hindu and Buddhist religious themes, and as an Indian who understands Hinduism fairly well, this was a nice surprise – the levels are also named after places in the Hindu mythology.

The gameplay is simple – you walk around exploring a world that’s gorgeous to look at. And you also a solve a few simple puzzles along the way – they never get too difficult, but do get more intricate the more you play.

If you’ve enjoyed Journey, then Areia: Pathway to Dawn is a definitely worth checking out. And it’s also worth playing if you want to chill out with a video game over the weekend.
