AMD Ryzen 7 India Prices Revealed

AMD Ryzen 7 India Prices Revealed

AMD has announced that the Ryzen range of processors will be globally launched on 2nd March. The series will be launched with three Ryzen 7 CPUs, which are supposed to be the premium end of Ryzen chips. These compete directly with Intel’s i7 range of processors, and if the early benchmarks are any clue, seriously outperform them, especially in terms of price.

Not talking too much, I’ll jump to the specs and the prices (suggested retail prices, SRP) of the Ryzen 7 CPUs, as I’m sure gamers and PC enthusiasts have been dying to find out:

Ryzen 7 1800X : INR 37,999/-

  • 95-watts
  • 8 cores and 16 threads
  • Base clock speed: 3.6GHz / Boost: 4GHz
  • When matched up against the eight-core Intel Core i7-6900K ( worth $1,089), the 1800X recorded an identical single-thread score of 162 on Cinebench benchmarks. With all cores turned on, the 1800X outperformed the 6900K by 9 percent, recording a score of 1,601.
  • The fastest 8-core processor on the market, AMD claims.

Ryzen 7 1700X : INR 29,499/-

  • 95-watts
  • 8-cores, 16-threads
  • Base Clock Speed: 3.4GHz / Boost to 3.8GHz
  • Using the multicore Cinebench benchmark, the 1700X scored 1,537, 4 percent faster than the $1,089 Core i7 6900K.

Ryzen 7 1700 : INR 24,499/-

  • 65 watts
  • 8 cores and 16 threads
  • Base Clock speed of 3GHz, boosting to 3.7GHz
  • According to AMD’s own tests, it recorded a score of 1,410 on the multicore Cinebench test, a whopping 46 percent better than the $339 Core i7 7700K. Using the Handbrake video-encoding test, the R7 1700 finished in 61.8 seconds, AMD said, versus 71.8 seconds for the 7700K.

All these Ryzen processors come with new thermal solutions based on the original Wraith coolers. The next evolution of Wraith includes Wraith Spire and Wraith Stealth, offering reliable, near-silent performance enthusiasts expect from the Wraith brand. Featured with Ryzen 7 1700 sold in retail boxes as well as many OEM systems, Wraith Spire offers superb cooling at an incredibly quiet 32 decibels.

AMD has also announced that these Ryzen chips will be supported by over 82 different motherboards, including the ones from ASRock, Asus, Biostar, Gigabyte, and MSI. They will be based on the AM4 platform, and AMD’s x370 and B350 chipset. AMD CEO Lisa Su reiterates that they have adequate supplies of Ryzen from the launch day to meet the demands. If AMD delivers on what it is promising, Intel could be in for some serious competition.
