This year we’ve got a good bunch of mobile releases and continue to do so even as we near the end of the year. Here are a couple of games from November that I’ve played and enjoyed as well.
Paper Wings
Probably one of the best games I’ve played till date. Not only is the game easy to get a hang of, but it’s brilliance lies in just how simple it is. The game is about catching falling balls mid -air to keep your bird alive. As you gain points, you face new challenges. The simple two touch controls allow your bird to fly high or dive low to collect the balls.
The game is inspired by an origami art style, which is quite different and refreshing to watch. The flying mechanic is intuitive, unique and so damn simple.

NeoNinja
Basic objective of this game is to kill targets without being seen. Each level starts in a maze where players have to dash through dark, neon lit interiors and eliminate all guards to progress in the game.
Avoid being seen and strike from behind (haha, that sounded funny). Once detected the guards will shoot on sight. Tapping on the screen will make the ninja walk from place to place, while sliding your finger across the screen makes his dash across and attack.

The Trail
Take a journey across an unknown country. Get to the town of Eden Falls and on the way explore, craft, collect, trade, discover, build and eventually settle. The game is quite pretty to look at as you traverse different landscapes and fantastic vistas. This game isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but a really good option for those who are into adventure and exploring.

Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition
This popular survival adventure title first released on PC some time ago and has now made it’s way into the mobile gaming segment. You need to scavenge for resources and craft all sorts of items and gear to help survive out in the wild, while keeping in check all your meters like health, rest, hunger etc. Quite an epic game, can’t go wrong with it.

PinOut
If people in Tron Legacy played pin-ball, this is what it would look like. The classic pinball mechanic has been remodeled into an exhilarating arcade experience. You have 60 seconds to continuously hit the ball into the top section of the machine to progress to a higher level where you do the same till time runs out.

Asphalt Extreme is the latest iteration of the Asphalt franchise which takes you through sand dunes and canyons in off-road vehicles. Much like the other Asphalt games, there are no rules and this time around no roads as well.
