Sony’s Tokyo Game Show is live in Japan and for the first time Sony has made few official decisions which include price drop of Sony’s PlayStation 4 console in Japan.
Earlier on the stage of TGS Sony called off the price of PlayStation 4 for Japan, According to Sony Japan executives speaking at the TGS, PlayStation 4 in Japan will cost $292, previously the console was priced for $334. The price listings will be updated and work effectively from October 1.
Japan is the only region that the price of PlayStation 4 has dropped however we could expect a similar price drop across Europe and US since Paris Games Week and Playstation Experience Show will deal in both Europe and US. The price drop was only announced for the 500GB version of the PS4, as the 1Tb version isn’t out yet in Japan.
Reason behind this price drop could be a way to stimulate/increase PS4 sales in Japan, since home town of Sony, Japan has the weakest market for PlayStation.
