Quick Review: The Light Inside Us

Quick Review: The Light Inside Us

The Light Inside Us is an abstract, tactical shooter set in an isometric world where light is sentinent. You shoot rays of destructive light with parts of your body and gain them back as you kill the enemies. Each shot counts and wasteful shots are not easily forgiven. In this abstract world, the aim is for “the children of light” to unite to form the “Light Warrior” to rescue their kidnapped mother, all in 55 levels.

The Winner of ‘Upcoming Game Of The Year’ at the NASSCOM Game Developer’s Conference and India and Finalist ‘Indie Prize Showcase’ at the Casual Connect San Francisco 2015, TLIUS has been developed by indie game developers, Dastan Games. According to Pocket Gamer, “The Light Inside Us combines the quick-thinking of tower defense, the planning and timing of a fast-paced strategy games, and the satisfaction of shoot ’em ups.” Dastan Games, a two man developer army, has made us proud by representing India at the Casual Connect Singapore 2016. To know more about them, do read their developer interview.

The Light Inside Us is certainly one of the best mobile games we’ve played. It is a novel approach to shooting games as missing a shot does more harm to you than the enemy. The game is challenging and gripping and gives you a sense of achievement as you progress. You need to be smart and fast to destroy your enemies and their nests. It requires strategy and quick thinking, because if you don’t then the “light inside you” may go!
